At least there's that to look forward to, I guess. The best standard of quality is a community that doesn't compromise and actively looks for what it truly likes and respects, instead of waiting for someone to tell them what to like. I like that about the indie side. No filter. You just write what you want.
As for translations, machines can be very iffy. I always try my best to know at least a bit of the language I'm looking into. It's extremely easy to botch/falsify a machine translation, especially if it's a language with many versions and dialects. The more widely spoken it is, the easier it gets.
