This is a perfectly normal fear to have. You can alleviate some of the anxiety by making a plan. You don't have to plan a path right away exactly, but knowing that you have something to look forward to will help. The more prepared you are, the less anxious you will be. Learn everything you can about college/the workforce. Learn from multiple sources of information.

Honestly most people aren't ready for life when they become a "legal adult". At age 18 people are still so young. Hopefully you have supportive parents/family members/friends that can sit down with you if you need it.

Don't think of the end of high school as the 'start'. Get a job now. Ask a family member or friend to help you get one. Having a bit of experience will alleviate your anxiety.

The most important thing to remember is that choosing one thing won't lock you out of anything else. It's not a video game.

Don't be scared. Fear won't save you~.

Agree with @Cipiteca396 on getting a job. Internships would also work if you have a support system and don’t need the money. I had an internship in high school, used that experience to get the job I worked through college, and got promoted to full time worker when I graduated. It is surprisingly easy to get set up once you take the first step.

I would like to recommend shadowing family and community members. There’s a ton of job options out there, including being a cat food taste tester. Best way to get to know them is seeing them in action or trying them yourself!

I didnt know what I wanted to do when I was 25. I just went with the flow.

Now I know what I want to be/do but that doesnt pay the bills.

Welcome to adult life monkey. You graduated into being an ape.
