You can eat eel raw? ?

Mm...I honestly don't know if the eels are raw when they're jellied, or not.

Either way, they look disgusting.

Not only a London delicacy. Eels are a European delicacy and were eaten commonly until they went nearly extinct. :blob_reach:

Eat them grilled japanese style. They look like every other grilled fish but still taste different :blob_melt:

I say a London delicacy because the rest of the country doesn't like them.

Well, the English people are known for many things, ... but certainly not their culinary skill.

Nobody thought that such a mysterious thing existed like a rejected huggle by Naherenne, but apparently it does. :blob_reach:

Not yours specifically. British food is just internationally notorious for being bad. Whether this reputation is justified or not is another question. :blob_evil_two:

It's not justified.

A Yorkshire Roast is wonderful!
Toad in the Hole is divine! [disclaimer: not an actual toad]
Spotted dick...eh, I'm not a fan of raisins in cakes.
Our sticky toffee pudding, though!

True enough and I believe you. :blob_melt:

But I have never in my life seen a "British restaurant", but I have seen many "Italian restaurants". :blob_evil_two:

A lot of pubs and pub/restaurant chains here do British food.
Tbh, I'm not a fan of Italian restaurants.
I also hate French restaurants.

One thing to know, though, British culture - in terms of food - is an amalgamation of tons of different cultures.
Btw, have you never heard of afternoon tea?

Curries, fish and chips, pies, stews, roasts, sandwiches, bara brith, Welsh rarebit, scones, many cheeses, many jams, Jersey royal potatoes, pork, and many, many desserts.
We have a huge variety of foods native to us.

Yes, I have heard about it and many jokes about it. :blob_reach: A considerable amount of British tankers were wounded during the battle of Normandy because the left their tanks for teatime and the Germans were quite eager to take some shots.

Since then until this day, all British military vehicles without exception have an integrated tea cooker.

Come on, fish and chips is appropriated from the Belgians. Chips are known here on the continent pomefrittes.

Curry is imported from India so not autochthonous.

As for the rest, those are dishes common to every place.
