It is less of "oh, they miss the context" and more of "oh, they got it, they just want it to be a simplified victory/ glory for themselves."

They do understand, they just want to be the privileged. The ones to dish out the suffering, not the ones who have to suffer in.

And any means to justify is a good mean.

People can rationalize anything. Someone could flip through the Bible and point at a random verse. If it says Judas hung himself what would they take away from that?

One version of the vampire origin story is that Judas, who drank the Lord’s blood and traded Jesus for silver coins, is the first vampire. That’s why the holy water, silver, daylight stuff exists. Everyone knows the first vampire is Cain, cursed for killing his brother.

People can make the bible say anything, all one has to do is ignore the other parts that disprove your position.
This is why good and sound doctrine is necessary, discernment is key.
Once you know, the fakes are much more obvious.

The world is filled with deceptions.
That's why telling the truth is revolutionary.
