I personally think they're not that good at political dramas.

Chinese and Japanese (fictional) politics feel like an exaggerated puppet show where the villains are villainous because they are villains. They do evil because they are evil.

The rooftop Koreans somehow managed to make all parties restrictive in physical strength, therefore no "I murder you, you murder me" until the power balance is broken.

There is also the slow incremental victories and defeats. They slowly inched forth to the end goal at every W and take a step back at the L and have the habit to be very personal about what they do.

@Controps they aren't bad at munchkining. They are bad at making a MC who is already imba from the start.

Yes, that is good for a MC with a face. But the Koreans are like the Mainland Chinese; faceless and easily self-inserted.

When the Koreans built their MC prepowered up, they gave him an identity. A shame is that they did not bother to futher give him growth as a character.

Power fantasy was never about that. Look at Overlord.

Overlord was more of a dark comedy for me. The political drama in it is a bit shallow for me nowadays.

All I see it is a failure. Making MC a "villain" is fine, human farm and torture is fine, being OP is fine.

But MC is a literal puppet getting propped by side characters to run around is not fine.

Saitama can be done like that because I don't really see Saitama as a human character, more like a mockery.

Overlord is trash.
