I admit that I stole that bottle, just casually took it out in the middle of the day, with witnesses :)

I don't condone the stealing but if you want to drink cognac, I would suggest either straight in a wine glass, possibly paired with some fancy pungent cheese, or as a sidecar cocktail. Here's a recipe for the cocktail.
