How come you don't stay on NUF @AliceShiki isn't it better over there?

I'm active on both sites.

Both sites have good communities. People here in Scribblehub just don't know how to follow the rules yet for some reason, nor do they know how to report.

That's basically the only issue I have here.

Has it ever occurred to you that we simply don't want to report?
AliceShiki

Yeah, that's a problem. Hopefully it will be fixed with time as the forum gets more active members.

Can't really do miracles here, and I'm not active enough to report everything that breaks the rules myself.

Well, personally I don't think the mod should be an active poster, but that's my personal opinion. If there was a mod I would probably just avoid interacting with them.

Meh, mods are users like any other. They're fun to interact with.

The only difference is that mods earned the trust of Tony to regulate the site, so he lets them do it.

They're not any different from normal users on other aspects.

And I'm not a mod, I don't moderate anyone.

I just use the report button, which more people should be using.

... At least we don't get many spam bots here, so it's not as needed as it is on NUF.

@AliceShiki I disagree. Mods tend to go on ego trips if they interact with the forum too much. The ones who are silent in the background are better. It'd be better if the mods are unknown and are just given access to a bot to do the work. If I don't know who the mod is, I don't have to avoid any.

But again, that's just my opinion, however if you're a mod you will be avoided by me.

Unless I don't know, then I would just avoid your stabbing.

You don't have much experience dealing with good mods then.

Your problem. Not much I can do about that.

Sometimes some sites get bad mods. It happens. The bad outliers don't change anything about the hardworking majority though.

Well, our opinions of good moderation are probably not the same. That's fair.

It's something that can be objectively measured for the most part.

Enforce the rules. Don't abuse authority. Contact Admin if unsure about how to handle a given situation. Don't antagonize users.

If you do this, you're almost guaranteed to be a good mod.

Bad mods are mostly those that abuse authority and antagonize users, or wrongly enforce the rules.
