What's the context?

Someone just commented that my story is stupid and it's only for children.

I believe he might just be insecure, but I'm no longer sure of myself.

Hmm...you know, I got a similar comment before. It stung, but I recovered from it immediately.

How? I know what direction I want to take my story.

If it's painful for you, you have the rights to take a time off. But, in the long run, don't mind it, as long as you know where to take your work.

Here's the thing, man. These feedback, while painful, is heavily biased. I mean, everything is.

So, take it with a grain of salt. If there's something in his feedback you can use, take it. If not, disregard his whining.

Being for children isn't really an insult.
Not to mention your MCs are children... It's probably for the best if the content isn't NSFW.

To add to Cipi's comment, some of children's works are enduring literature today.

Based on your story, I'd say he's an edgelord whose standard in 'great/good' stories include having an MC wearing an all-black long coat, and is always angry to the world around him.
