Lol, the only way machines can take over is if they can find the energy to do so.
We can talk about solar all we want, but the fact remains that even our “fossil fuels” came from either solar or geothermal energy.
Machines without energy sources due to inefficiency compared to biological organisms might have difficulty, only real advantage is they are a collective rather than individual.
People thought the nuclear bomb would ignite the atmosphere.
People held riots, destroying machines in the early XXth century for taking their jobs.
People thought nothing would replace horses.
This is how I see it now. Unknown bad -> Unknown feared.
Sorry, but I do not subscribe to the idea that AI is suddenly here to fuck us all up from nowhere.
I see no problem with that. Plus, It is not real AI. It is an algorithmic program (do not quote me on that), as far as I know. It can't feel, think, or evolve like a human. It will be nothing more but a highly sophisticated slave for humans that mimics human traits for ease of access and to exploit human para-socialistic tendencies. (p1)
After the first initial century of being exploited and made use of by corporations and those who are in power, it should settle down to be the same as your phone in your pocket today. A device you don't even think about using. However, we won't live long enough to see that happening and enjoy the first lawless wild west times of it with all the exploits and misuses. (p2)
