I think it's absolultely justifiable for them to act like this. That author had a bad day, came to SH and instead of a proper conversation had usual SH forums experience. SH forums chill and relaxed atmosphere where we mostly joke and shitpost will rile up someone who expects a serious discussion.
The thing is, SH was way too serious before, and had too much drama. It was rare for people to actually listen to each other unless they already had similar opinions. Because of that, most people who actually were serious, and were ready to have such discussions left or reduced their presence to lurking.
I understand that feeling, and I really want to support them and let them know it's okay. But every and all attempts to do so is ignored in favor to create even more drama...
I just don't feel too good about it. I think that's all I'm worried about.
Thanks for responding, it's nice to have someone to chat with.
Those who are still active, either stopped being serious(like me), or continue giving their opinions one-sidedly(like jemini). Though, all of this is only my biased opinion. I might be wrong, or if I'm right, that author might not know all of it. So acting the way they acted is okay(for now).
I think if the OP wanted to be serious about it, he/she wouldn't have started saying the site is garbage, and so are those who post here. As Zinless said, he/she ignored those who were initially even agreeing and just went off with it. (pt1)
If there are some jokes fired off as first responses, there is a simple solution; normally commenting that you really think about this deeply and are interested in some serious takes.
My experience is that most people here are open to that, even if they throw in some jokes and banter here and there. (pt2)
