Demeaning comments? What for?

@Hans.Trondheim For wanting something, or having a hobby that won't be a golden goose from the first day, and a criticism that I drew my friend as a furry when my mother doesn't know what furries are and saying I can't draw that because I won't earn money that way (lol)
Then she says I would use it just for a month or 2 b4 my interest fades and it would be just another thing she wasted money on me.

Well, do you enjoy what you do? And if you do that, is anyone being harmed? If yes, then, they may have a point. But if no, then by all means, pursue what your heart wants to. Well, of course, you'll need financial security, and there are other ways to achieve that. But living a life isn't just all about money; you have to enjoy it as well.
