Alright, hear me out. The hand patting the blob is a left hand. However, it is being pat on the right side of the body. To top it off, the blob is sad so it is probably being consoled by another blob.

Proof of it being the left hand is that blobs have thumbs as seen here , , and here . You can't see the thumb here because the thumbs are pressed against the blob.

Honestly I thought it was another blob telling the sad one "it's okay."

Like its comforting the sad blob
