I've seen only one animorphic books and they can usually change by will but its usually depending ont he situation its helpful or not

There's also some pretty gruesome stuff in those books such as cannibalism, throwing children down elevator shafts and posing as them, and I think there was a murder by tentacle oral rape at one point.

Never read animorph series. Now got my curiosity. Sounds kinda dark for a kid's story...

It is incredibly dark. Especially for a kids story. Though it's also a dumpster fire of a bad series that is so convoluted that you need to know every detail to know what was going on at the end.

Such an old series. It was so big in the scholastic brochures they passed out but I never read them because I had no money to buy them growing up.

Same, though someone gave me a used copy of one of the books when I was like 9 and it was weird as fuck.
