19 is like a limbo state between 18 and 21. It's weird and you're not sure if you are entirely an adult or not. Though no matter how old you get a birthday can feel like just any regular day.

It will get worse.

Me American, me no can drink. It no make difference.

I don't remember how I felt at that age; but I haven't been celebrating birthdays in many years. I do, however, know the date; and it's a grim reminder of the passage of time.
