When I write I usually take names of minor historical figures, but honestly I’m gonna do this next time I need to name a character in an mmo rpg game.

For me, I just get the first name that came into my head while writing.

Most of my names have meaning
But sometimes the first cool thing that comes to my head gets to be the one

just use real-world names, but like turk or whatever, average westerner will think it's exotic made up sci fi fantasy name

I use real-world names unless the characters are part of a made-up culture.
