Oh. I had a brief run with Yu-Gi-Oh...maybe a year and a half? I got really good at this style of playing called "Leeching" or something. ITs where you would constantly make the person take cards out of their deck and place them "out of play" meaning they didn't go into the graveyard, they were literally removed from play and couldn't be used at all for the remainder of the duel.

Probably half of my matches, I won by pure default because you have to have a certain amount of deck remaining to be eligible to continue a match. I wasn't particularly popular in the Yu-Gi-Oh circles. What's amusing is that I was even hated on by the very girl who taught me the strategy!!

Magic the Gathering is far more complicated then Yu-Gi-Oh, and so I never made much of an effort.

Yeah, players who use leeching, stall, or meta strategies are usually shunned despite them being some of the best strategies. though, there is a double standard where if one of those strategies is part of a specific archetype of Yu-Gi-Oh then it's okay. with MTG there are less hypocritical players as they'll still be shunned for using these strategies.

Never heard of the "Stall" strategy. Mind you, last time I played Yu-Gi-Oh, those XYZ-style monster cards were new and all the rage.

so you don't know about pendulum summons or link summons. you are a pure child who shouldn't be shown such things. though the stall strategy is banned in all tournaments because the game takes too long. It's basically where you play cards that are there solely to make it so your opponent can't play their cards. I love using this strategy with my own made from scratch deck.

Wow. You are such a monster!! How dare you dare to be more malevolent than I!! Leeching is cruel but Stalling? I swear man, you must be descending from Stalin. (Heh...made a lame Josef Stalin joke. Laugh with me please?)

@gogo7966 Never played Pokemon card game or knew anyone who did. Is it complicated? From the description on the card's abilities...it seems simpler than Yu-Gi-Oh and MTG. But is it?

quite a bit so mostly thanks to the fact that there is no way to do anything on the enemys turn

I used brute force decks. In Yu-Gi-Oh, no 4* monster with less than 1500 attack unless it had a good effect, no 5-6* with less than 2500 attack, and no 7* or higher with less than 3000 attack. I used spells to strengthen that further. For a while I had a deck with duplicates of a card that boosted its stats when there was more than one copy on the field.

Who needs strategy, when you can just win?

The only deck I used besides a Leeching deck was a Tyrano Infinity deck. https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Tyranno_Infinity
I actually won quite a few matches with it by making a Dino deck based around boosting Tyrano Infinty's strength to enormous levels. I had Traps and Spells based around making sure he grew stronger while also making it as complicated as possible to get rid of him.

I can remember having his Attack up to 9,000 in one duel via constant sacrifices and a few spell cards based around strengthening via sacrificing and dino monsters. And then the deck box I had them sitting in got stolen. Was one of the reasons among several others that I quit playing.
