For the blue sky one its 11?/20 and its bc im kind.

If i was the food judge harsh guy, its a 9/20 or even 5/20 GTFO of my kitchen.

Do you think these pieces create/serve their own atmospheres?

Btw
here is an example of : (repetitive sounds in background)

First listen without bothering to study the song.
(Read rest only after listening once)
THEN REPEAT. And focus on noises in background. There is a CLEAR snap finger noise. That is very annoying usually and/or when you discover it. But if you dont, its totally fine.

It sounds like a cheap or unmixed/poorly mixed drum pad, not just with the snapping imo. I can’t focus on any piece as a whole, unless it is one voice, I am always drifting between each voice/layer.

Basically.
Like cooking.

Music is A PUZZLE.

You must fit each other to do the perfect form.

That is the thing.

People dont care if you use a 5m$ guitar or a garage studio.

As long its good, you are a god.

its not really a problem

the problem is that you dont know how to fusion them like Gogetta. (Vegeta + Goku)

People dont want to have a potato and salt.
What they want is a salty mashed potatoes.

The ingredients are 100% same, but the difference of appreciation is 10000% not the same.

Agreed, just once I focused on the percussion layer it stood out, imo. This is the kind of layering I prefer, especially in the fugue sections:

0:20->0:23 you got this smoothness that is enjoyable.

Elijah. Do not forget that basically, human beings are a useless piece of meat, that react biologically to "noises" (in general meaning)
Ears, since times immemorial, will prefer this or that noise or certain frequencies. Or hate sounds like SKREEEE noise on blackboard.

Sometimes it is good to return to the fundamentals or have a scientific view on things.

First fudge starts at 3 minutes, it is the least discordant of the ones in the set.

I think, compared to copying or taking inspiration from Fugue. You should do whatever "you feel right".

BECAUSE you try to do like the video, you confine yourself and your imagination.

Heck, just do random notes, as long it "sounds good" = you did a perfect job.
Bc yes, in the end, like humans only care "if its good" like food. Eating natto is rotten food or wine, but its good.

Pretty sure DJ okawari didnt expect their music to be THAT FAMOUS.

What i want to say, is that you are going too much in the far end of "artistic path"
The "i throw paint on canvas" kind of lunaticy. (you are not, but its kinda feels like that and i feel the need to wake you up)

You are still you, but sometimes, you need to cater to the mainstream if you want to be liked. (not entirely but i mean, that going too niche, result in not so good results)

Edit: hard to explain.

tldr : you are aiming too high.

In this case, simply do a smoothing piano song for your blue sky song. THEN ADD STUFF when you feel its decent enough.
= step by step upgrade.

That is the thing @Tsuru that is what sounds good to me…. The more voices, the more unique things each voice does, the better it sounds imo. Of course there are limitations to that, but dissonance often sounds pleasant to my ears, especially when it comes from clashing voices rather than a single voice doing something complex.

I know. You know. I know you know. We both know. That you are not a famous singer/music-er.

So start small
and walk step by step. No need to do a song that incorporate 3+ instruments.

I have already done quite a few single voice pieces.
