Mine's a slow-burning Epic Fantasy. Probably not your gig.

Just finished it today. It's a drama/horror/psychological thriller dipped in anime. I've got some romance in there, some slow burn. Thank you for going out of your way and thank you for giving us all the opportunity self promote.

My book is a fantasy/mystery isekai story about a depressed former child actor that vacations to the other side of the world to get away from his responsibilities and trauma, only to end up being pulled into a cult consperacy that ends up messing with his soul. Now everytime he sleeps he wakes up in a fantasy world, and vise versa. I think its a neat concept that blends two very different worlds together in a fun half fantasy-adventure and half mystery/slice of life romp. Heres the link!

Fantasy/Magitech with a slowburn story; just minimal romance

Here's the description:
Fifteen-year-old Taka dreams of becoming an adventurer. Setting out to make that dream a reality, he boards a ship to the town of Leln. Struggling to grow past his combat anxiety all while navigating difficult relationships with his less-than-stellar companions—an arrogant magician, Beriyl, and a closed-off, no-nonsense swordsman, Arthur— Taka finds that adventuring is far more dangerous and stressful than he ever imagined. After their first monster hunt goes awry, Taka works to become stronger under Arthur's watchful eye, while budding feelings bloom in his chest for the noble Beriyl. When the town is besieged by goblins and Taka yet again is paralyzed in terror while his friends fight around him, he finds himself face to face with his worst fear—that he might not be cut out to be an adventurer, after all. If Taka is unable to grow past this terror, then his friends will protect him forever, and he’ll never become the person he wants so badly to be.

Blending inspiration from non-western fantasy the likes of Rifujin na Magonote's Mushoku Tensei and Kanehito Yamada's Frieren, fans of the slice-of-life/steadily increasing stakes variety of fantasy will find plenty to love here. A found family dynamic runs center in the story; the people we follow themselves are the story, I always say. This is not quite a tale of the hero defeating a dragon, but a hero finding that the dragon lies more so in the everyday minutiae of being an adventurer itself.

Yes. There is suffering. There is darkness. There is an ancient evil. But Taka is only a child.

TLDR: Slice-of-life coming of age high fantasy closely following a group of three people which quickly balloons to six people, with a slowly and naturally escalating main conflict. Three books in the series and this is the first, two are complete so far, beginning work on the third any day now.
