I assume to build a portfolio and get their work out there.

I mean, technically, "Artist" would make people think I draw, but I'm just a freelance editorial Designer - I believe I have one cover in which I "drew" something, and that was a simple silhouette (if you don't count some logo designs or elements created in Adobe Illustrator), and that cover is not even finished.
I've actually been doing this for years, I have quite a portfolio, but for time and mental reasons, I haven't had the chance recently (I did literally nothing much in all of 2025, I think). I've always had a main occupation and did these things as a side gig, when I had some free time; I actually worked as the main cover designer for a small imprint publisher for a while back in 2021 or something (also something I did as a side gig), until I had to drop out for a bit and they had to replace me, because someone had to do the job. And yes, I have a private tax number and yes, I am allowed to issue invoices. I did so many times (in case someone was wondering - I don't even know if that regulation is a thing outside of Germany).
Doing things while working full time gave me the chance to do something I like, yet be picky about it - and at the same time, to be able to not take money if I want to or offer cheap prices if I do take money. Because, if you can pay your bills either way, you're not desperate.
It's true freedom.
Why do I tell you that? I don't know. I just felt I should probably note that somehow. In Art and Design, the end product speaks for itself.

Quick Status Update​

So, I might have mentioned at some point along the way that I have never worked on Forums like this - but that is only half the truth. I haven't, in fact, spent time on any Forum ever, no matter what it was about, outside of a single one. I have actually been unnaturally active on Scribble Hub, if I may say so.
In consequence, the functions of Forums and the difference in them did not occur to me; in that only other Forum, you can edit your posts forever and a day, unless the thread has been moved into the archives. I kind of conflated that, not even considering it might be different for this site, thus you see the way the head post was build for "eternal use". Since that won't be possible, as I can't actually change any of it anymore, I will just post frequent update posts like this one, in which I will post the same table as in the first post, with pending and fulfilled requests, as well as the "Open for Commissions" sign in its current status (in case I'm currently NOT open for commissions).
