I've seen a few reverse world stories on scribblehub but feel like most are the same: As in, male and female gender norms and culture are reversed And a little over the top. Often leading to a variety of smut scenes with very little plot progression besides a bit of exploration around the new cultural norms and values.
What would you as reader like to see added in such a story variant? I myself was thinking about a variety of species: Demi humans (canine, feline etc) elves, orcs maybe even demon subtypes. This could add more cultures and social norms outside of the changed gender norm. Maybe demi humans identify things based on scent/smell (random example)
What do you think would be fun to throw into the mix, dungeons, classes or something else entirely? Maybe a more economical focus where the MC (even though males are typically seen as more typical household caretakers) want to start a bussines? Or become a dungeon diver, maybe even a soldier? Maybe instead of dungeons there's a typical monster hunting job similar to tokyo ghouls.
Or perhaps it should be taken for another spin with the reverse world setting being in the medieval ages? Considering the social norms of that time.
What's your idea/opinion on this?
