Title: The Twin Swordmasters — Sun & Moon Qi, Twin Protagonists (Ch. 1–4 Feedback)

“When the Sun and Moon share a heartbeat, the world trembles.”
Hi everyone — I’ve just released the Prologue and Chapters 1–4 of my first ever original fantasy light novel The Twin Swordmasters and I’m looking for early feedback.
The story follows twin siblings born under a solar eclipse, each carrying an opposing form of Qi Solar (Sun) and Lunar (Moon). Their existence contradicts imperial doctrine, turning them into hunted anomalies in a fractured continent.
I’m especially interested in feedback on:
  • Pacing of the opening chapters
  • Clarity of the power system without heavy exposition
  • The dynamic between the twin protagonists
If you enjoy dual-protagonist stories, cultivation-style systems, or anime-inspired fantasy, I’d really appreciate your thoughts.
Would you keep reading past Chapter 1? Why or why not?

No, the chapter is too short, and doesn't provide a hook. Write more chapters before asking for feedback again.

Curious to ask, more is how many?
It's not about how thick your pages are, but how much your narrative is sufficient to convey a story worth reading... at least, according to at least one arc. It's unfair to judge a new fiction after 1-2 chapters or a dozen chapters and then write a review. Readers need a vivid narrative. A few chapters are very difficult to narrate a story that is complex and humane with a resolution.

Of course, this is just my opinion... other readers may have different opinions.

True I am seeing that as I write more chapters as the narrative becomes more vivid and my MCs enters the wider world each chapter fuels the next, I am able to create longer chapters my last 3 chapters I published 6,7,8 avg 930+ words my goal is to avg 1.1k not in a way that feels forced
