Anything is a box and a circle if you try hard enough, but if I get real I pretty much use em all the time when I sketch a pose bc it’s just… easier to get the angle/proportions. To be fair, I never started out with the basics, and still don’t know them lmaoo, but they certainly help.

Here's my take -- Tbh I think the shading in the orig is cool but it doesn't go that well with the red bg... so I just added blue (multiply layer on top) so it pairs with the red. Then with a soft light layer and an air brush I made the faces a bit lighter so it draws the eye in + softened some...
