Weekly writing prompts/ writing exercises with critique

Just to let everyone know, I'm still doing this but I won't post a new lesson unless someone gets to lesson 12.

    Recommendations for "clean" romances?

Fantasia is mainly a comedy adventure but with a strong romantic subplot that is entirely PG-13.

Weekly writing prompts/ writing exercises with critique

Critiques posted to the appropriate threads on Reddit. Of note, please only complete one lesson at a time and wait for feedback in between, as I usually end up repeating parts of the critique if you don't. I will not critique lessons done in batches in the future. Lesson 10 up.

Weekly writing prompts/ writing exercises with critique

I guess? I really don't check very often. It's also nice to gather all the exercises in one place so other people can benefit from the feedback, so I might choose to copy-paste your work onto Reddit and put the critique there for you to check.

Weekly writing prompts/ writing exercises with critique

For future reference, please post your writing pieces directly to the subreddit as I don't usually check these forums and will not notice replies for days or weeks at a time. As a second note, it is permissible to post excerpts from your existing writing that pertain to the lesson, but the...

    SSSC Feedback and Suggestions

You can certainly ask for a ridiculous minimum length if you want a 80% failure rate (in this context, no participation for people who are actually interested in participating) like NaNoWriMo does. Keep in mind that 1) people plan for NaNoWriMo all year and generally have a fully planned story...

    SSSC Feedback and Suggestions

Well, that's certainly one approach to writing. I certainly don't go for quantity over quality. Just because you have a busy schedule and managed to put a story out doesn't mean it's reasonable to ask people to do so for what's supposed to be a fun contest, especially on a recurrent basis if you...

    SSSC Feedback and Suggestions

Speaking as a writer, prompts that are unreasonably specific and unsuited for the other contest requirements are going to lead to poor participation. "How to cook an egg" really isn't suitable for a minimum 4000 word story, whereas the other two are set-ups for complicated, longer stories...

    Ratings

Low ratings can be super annoying and ruin my mood for a couple of hours, but it's something to be expected and something any writer needs to be able to shrug off. At this point, I actually prefer the low rating without a detailed review, because I've been writing for years and have settled into...
