Oh god, I can imagine! Yep, I doubt I could manage the whole thing in French. I love the book though, and I think that iconic line really needs to be in French to work. 'Wait and Hope' isn't really the most evocative translation.
An old novel actually, the Count of Monte Cristo. Literally it means 'Wait and Hope', and figuratively something more like 'Never stop dreaming, and always stand ready to make your dreams come true'
Totally, I'd be on board with having some sort of super-like as well, but I'd defer to those better informed on how to weigh it against the 'being nice' issue. Maybe a 'favorite' toggle that automatically added the story to your favorites folder and took you through to a little comment wall to...
