Well thank everyone for your replies. I feel like I'm learning more from many different points of view. I tend to agree that most readers wouldn't spend one dime unless they are forced to, so it's a system that seems to work.

I have seen many authors seem to 'pull' their stories past a certain treshold in order to sell their content on Amazon (or other sites). Is this alright with readers? Do you think it is okay to cull 95% of a published book in order to sell it online? I'm new to this practice and it got me a bit...
