That's really good! Stuff like this, written in 2nd person, is so easy to slip into especially considering how short it is. It really has a nice feel to it, you can actually perceive it's world much better. But personally I can't imagine reading a super long 2nd person story, let alone write one.

That's an interesting way to put it. There are tons of civilizations and indigenous tribes you can model from. Like South American Tribes, Southeast Asian indigenous tribes, and so on. It might add interesting dynamics between the more advanced civilization and the tribes' deliberate reluctance...

First of all, love your input, I totally get where you're coming from. Due to reasons, I originally wrote this all with a word limit handicap. So it took a big effect even on the rewrites. But I do plan on making something out of it, but not in how some people (probably including myself) would...

To be quite honest, I am not (or rather, no longer) a big reader anymore. But one thing that always strikes me as easy-to-read is perhaps contemporary fiction set in a very close-to-home kinda way. Big fan of soft sci-fi and low fantasy, as well as comedic takes on alternate history. Right now...
