What motivated you to stop being a reader and write your own fiction?

Me: When a reader is too bored of reading hundreds of fictions with similar tropes, where only the protagonist/antagonist identity is changed, but the core story remains the same, he/she might "rebel" by writing his/her own fiction as a "subversion" or writing fiction that aligns with his/her conscience (even if it means differing from the mainstream tropes).

A lack of stories that suited my taste. So I had to take things into my own hands and write the story myself.

two...three reasons.

One - I put it on my bucket list years ago I want to write and publish a book

Two - It keeps my brain active and gives me some purpose now that I am retired. Otherwise due to my medical conditions, I would probably smoke/drink myself to death in a few years to get away from the pain.

Three - I am a basic bitch that enjoys harem/isekai/system smut.

But overwhelmingly in this genre, authours give the MC fertility control abilities, so no babies happen, (even if the girl(s) were expecting or wanting it) or at least not until the end of the story, with some happily ever after BS or whatever. I want to explore what happens when babies do happen in these isekai environments, and how that will change things, how I can develop my MC to balance becoming a father with whatever else is happening.

Evil protagonists. Are lack there of purely evil protagonists. I got bored of authors using the trope of "people from X kingdom wronged me in X way. Because of that Im gonna genocide them all and take over the world"

Like why are you tryna give them a righteous reason for the fucked up shit they are doing. Just make them evil. I want something to the note of "yes i invaded and killed everyone in that innocent village. Why? Because i wanted to and it was funny" give me someone who is unapologetically evil doing evil shit.

My imagination never stops. Throughout the day, after I finish a story, I find myself involuntarily imagining my own ending and predictions for that story, and I think about it all day long (the beginning of the fanfiction idea). I also really love writing and have participated in many different activities involving writing short stories. I am still a new writer.

In the dark days of 2020 when I'd got my rights back on my (traditionally published PNR) books and was homeschooling (there is a reason I didn't become a teacher), I binge-watched GMDC and consequently started reading translated BL cultivation novels. Then I helped with editing them (hence my familiarity with NU). Annoyed by the absence of smut in some of the good ones, I took to writing my own.
So TL/DR Smut, smut got me writing again.
*No surprise my previous books were also smutty.
**Pro tip. Publishing houses suck (the life, soul and financial independence from you).

Lol! I did agriculture on my mother's insistence because I had horses. (Personally I don't think my mother (very much heels and pearls) understood the differences between cows and horses). It was indeed boring. I don't recall cow variations, but did learn to tell how fertile a bull is... I also (through the ag program) got a licence to buy and use highly restricted chemicals/poisons. At sixteen.

Back in high school I had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up. All I knew was that I loved dogs, so when the school guidance counselors asked what career I was aiming for, I said, I dunno, maybe a vet? The closest thing they had to a veterinary class was agriculture science, so I signed up for that as an elective my junior year. It was awful. The teacher was exactly who you would imagine when you think of the kind of person who wants to teach high schoolers how to run a farm "Don't call them cows! How would you feel if I called everyone in this class a girl? They are BOVINE, only the FEMALES are cows, and you'd know that if you weren't killing your brain cells with video games and TV!"

Gotta give him props, though. I knew after the very first day of class that I never wanted to be a farmer.

I read a novel with a very good premise and the author butchered it. BUTCHERED IN THE MOST CRUEL WAY. It became a joke. Twilight level. The main leads were a joke and the supporting character was so pitiful.

I needed to write a novel with similar premise as redemption.
