And this my friends, is why we no longer trust video game journalists.
Its just like those corporations who fish around for awards like MOST TRUSTED BRAND according to little timmy down the street

It won the goty for GLAAD Media Awards, which acc to wikipedia 'is a US accolade bestowed by GLAAD to recognize and honor various branches of the media for their outstanding portrayals of LGBTQ people and the issues that affect their lives.' Looking at their Outstanding Video Game category, not surprised. At least Dustborn didn't win ?

What an absolute load of bullshit. I mean, a hot steaming pile of bullshit. Wow. Not surprised though. Not even a little. I feel like I made a joke here about that a few months back....or was it Assassins Creed Shadows? Idk, can't remember. But I expected either Veilguard or Shadows to win in the end.

Those awards are much more interested in a game being gay than they are in gameplay.
You summed up much of the regular gaming industry even now. Add in people obsessed with adding diversity for its own sake as well as the gaymers, and you have 3/4 of the ENTIRE gaming industry easily.

I say industry as in the corporate and "creators" side of it, not the gamers themselves who are mostly as a whole, opposed to this detestable crap, as sales and flops have proven over the past few years.

Well then, let's hope that's the only award it wins.

Wow. Even if you’re solely interested in LGBTQ representation, wow. Taash is absolutely AWFUL representation, specifically. Abrasive, not well integrated into preexisting lore, aggressively modern in presentations for a lot of reasons (their choice of nonbinary as a self description being only one).

For contrast, look at Dorian in Inquisition. I rolled my eyes a little at his loyalty mission, because it was kinda preachy, but it was so much better handled and integrated. He never used a modern term like Homosexual, he just said that he preferred the company of other men.

His dad, despite doing the magical equivalent of trying to make him straight with a course of electroshock therapy, was presented with a lot of sympathy right from the word go. You could tell that both father and son regretted that they were on poor terms even as Dorian (justifiably) tore into the guy.

Was that too much nuance? Did people complain that Inquisition was giving someone a pass for homophobia?
