Sharing a doodle/concept art dump for a lot of my novels !

I am actually an illustrator who has always loved reading and writing since I was very young. Though, until recently with encouragement from my best friend who was the only one I let read my novels, I never had the courage to post my writing so often I would doodle or illustrate scenes and interactions of my characters from various novels I wrote and post them instead. So here is just a large doodle dump of a bunch of scenes I drew from my novels over the years (warning some of them are crazy old art) - hopefully, after lots of revision, I'll also post the novels a lot of these doodle go to.

Don't expect too much, I'm already fighting the urge to completely rewrite the first 2 chapters after posting- I'm still in the throws of trying to over come my fear of posting my writing haha

It's actually one of my personal criteria for "insta reading a novel" cos idk people who adore their characters and story enough to draw their own cover regardless of if they are a pro or beginner clearly must adore their stories to spend the time to do so and that's exciting to me!

Why not do a Light Novel? Pretty easier to write than a Novella and blends your illustrative skill with writing. Maybe the current examples of an LN aren’t that interesting anymore considering they’ve aged a bit badly (anime references only work if you’re aware of them in the moment and repeated tropes get old)… but I think you’d probably make a good one if you just did what you liked.

Why not do a Light Novel? Pretty easier to write than a Novella and blends your illustrative skill with writing. Maybe the current examples of an LN aren’t that interesting anymore considering they’ve aged a bit badly (anime references only work if you’re aware of them in the moment and repeated tropes get old)… but I think you’d probably make a good one if you just did what you liked.

To be honest I'm unsure what exactly makes a light novel a light novel like I know light novels are a light read, but some books that I loved as a kid like Artemis Fowl reads like a light novel to me even though they're not considered one, but other novels that a lot of people consider light novels like ORV seem pretty heavy ??. I am definitely a dialogue person when it comes to writing very show not tell rather than giving crazy detailed descriptions probably because I'm imagining how I would draw it later for my webtoon so maybe I'm already more a light novel writer?

I've only been on the forums for a day and a half and I already feel like I'm meeting a celebrity from seeing your name pop up in all the scribble hub lore around here
