It's fine!
After all, we've had a quest where fairies were involved, however they didn't want to be known to the world, so made the PC form a contract/cursed pact with them.
@InsertName did that quest, if you're curious.
It's why his character, BigGreen changed from a plant in a flowerpot to a humanoid.

Mentioning it will give chance for others to mention it if they're interested, leading to it becoming a library entry.
