What is the best African/Asian country to live in with 500$ - 1,000 $ per month?

None. Most of the first world countries in those areas have downsides, mainly in regards to xenophobia and not very accepting cultural/societal values. Living in a second or third world country isn't a good idea for any number of reasons. It really depends on what languages you know as fluency in any country's primary language is a necessity. I lived in japan for about a year and had no residency in my name despite working in the country, being highly fluent, and making a decently above average salary. Korea wasn't much better but I also didn't live there as long as I did in japan.
The biggest thing I can say is if the country you live in now doesn't have any major problems then it would be best to simply stay there.

I know English and German. I can start learning the language of the country I want to go to, I guess. I mean, it is the polite thing to do. Besides, I dream of a place to call my own in a nice rural area. Peace and quiet.

South Korea is very racist just an FYI. Japan is not much better. Both are expensive. South East Asia Singapore is also expensive for expats. Vietnam and so on have expat groups and like African Nations they are very cheap but have issues. However overall I would rate them higher liveability wise than most African nations.

Oh, are you female? I do not want to assume. Do you have any experience living over seas in a non Western nation? It is a HUGE change. Sexism outside of most western style countries can be eye opening at best.

You will eventually need a patron or friend group. To help protect you from social pitfalls. Whether male or female. Safe? No nation is truly safe, just some are better than others. Especially to outsiders. You have to be aware of what you can and cannot do. I have never been to Kenya so I do not know. check their safety score compared to where you live now.

South China's pretty nice (comparable to midwest US), but with tensions the way they are I'd say to consider carefully. I've been out at like 3am walking with no issues and have had female friends tell me the same about other places in China. Thailand might also be worth considering as far as cost of living goes.

But liveability/Safety/Medical access: Any Western Nation>Korea/Japan/Singapore>Eastern Europe (Except Russia, Belarus and Ukraine)>South America (Except Venezuela)>South East Asia (Except Indonesia) including India>South Africa>Africa>Islamic countries if your Female>War zones>Gangster overrun/Police State Countries.

I didn't know that there's a CIA World Fact Book.
I do know that there were public Military records on how the US distribute soldiers in foreign military bases, but not much outside of that. I only read a bit on this coz it became an issue a decade or more ago due to American soldiers committing crimes in Asian bases, and getting away scot-free by going back to the US. SMH

Anyway, I don't think it's a good time to move in an Asian country for the next decade or so. But if you're just asking, it's prolly the Philippines. It's also easy to naturalize.

Where do you live right now? That is very important. your question is too broad and frankly quite naive. emigration does not work like this. discard any sense of security you have if you're going to be stranded on a foreign country.

what happens when you fly out, go to your apartment and find out it does not exist. are you going to the police? can they even understand you? will they care? It's a common scam here to have rent/sell an apartment to multiple people and run with the money.

my best advice would be to look for a place that shares similar values to yours (western). Or somewhere you have family or friends living as they can show you the ropes and take care of logistics.


for country choice I'd highly suggest sticking to europe if you're from there. otherwise you'd just be raising the difficulty level.

for africa, do not go to any black country. you will not be welcomed and they are not stable. there's a constant power struggle and it is only getting worse. that limits you to northern africa and south africa (the country). SA is fucked. It is very very unsafe especially for white people. multiply the unsafety factor by 2 for women (applies for any country really).

this leaves us with northern africa. I'd say there's only Egypt and Morocco. Egypt has a western version. but you cannot afford it with 500~1k usd. normal version will feel different but if you can adapt you will be fine. Egypt is a tourist attraction so some places are used to seeing foreigners. I'd recommend Alexandria (my city). No rural stuff though. Also we're neighbours to israel and might be going to war soon so there's that if you want to spice up your life a little.

Morocco is likely the most westernized country in northern africa. Likely the best choice from what little I know.


for asia, I'd say singapore or malaysia, mainly because that's where I'd go if I were to emigrate there. both are somewhat expensive though.

I say stay where you are. Your country is already fairly cheap to live in. Even cheaper than that usually exponentially increases risks. Don't forget, trying to win a penny, you can loose a pound.

If I were you, I'd rather go to a country with nuclear weapons and that isn't close to sea level, preferably in a bit of altitude to dodge floods.
