I’ve been thinking about writing again and say down with a friend to brainstorm ideas I’ve settled on one and I’d like opinions~

So basically, for thousands of years magic has been slowly killing its users, corrupting and then eating their souls. This has caused the entire world to enter a viscous cycle where rulers are constantly overthrown as previously benevolent leaders turn to dictators.

As time progressed, magic slowly gained a consciousness. Part of its thousands(?) of minds realized it was driving the world to turmoil and realized it needed to take action… by killing itself.

People are chosen to use magic more or less by random and gain one of three attributes. Magic, in its quest to kill itself chooses our MC (no name yet). One larger mind and a bunch of smaller ones are in her mind. However, she gets corrupted really fast and the magic really wants her to go kill everything.

To save herself from her curse, she goes to destroy magic. Magic tries to both help and stop her along the journey, corrupting people near her at increasing rates as more and more magic gets stuffed in their minds to kill her.

male magic pool was corrupted by "the enemy" cause male magic with female magic was too strong
because of that any male magician is hunted cause they cause disaster around them because they grow insane as they use the male magic pool
the chosen one is male and is slowly growing insane throught the book and is afraid to hurt those around him but he cant stop using magic cause need to fight evil
i stop reading when he was going to a desert

i dont have a strong opnion but, working on the character development betwen duty x selfishness , colective x individual. and make a contrast betwen the magic that want to self sacrife in order to save the world and the girl that probably wouldnt want to have to deal with the journey to destroy magic and with those near her getting corrupted
