Okay. Let's modify the speed then.

can't I make it small, honestly? I really prefer to modify the speed component rather than modifying its weight and wingspan (thus modifying its size). So, must it be a large bird? Having the speed of harpy eagle multiplied by four would lead to lift generated multiplied by 16. Assuming the mass is constant, (12.7 + 5~8kg), so we have around 20kg total weight. Then when it is multiplied by 16, 320kg total weight minus its own weight, which would be able to take around 300kg. The speed at this time is 320km/h or 89m/s (around a bullet train speed?).

Of course, I am not physicist and this calculation may be way off.

With 300kg, it should be able to take heavy armored adventurer? How much is the weight of plate armor, anyway?

It was just the first few, I think, you just say "I" in the report so I didn't know who it was

Or it could use wind magic to help it remain airborne and carry heavier weights than its actual weight should be able to.

Isn't this a problem if the bird slows down though?

How would they achieve the necessary speed anyway?

that's the equation. Assuming all is constant, L = 1/2 (\rho) (v)^2 A C_L

so when v_2=2v_1, then it would be able to lift 4 times. If we just want normal human, (12+8) * 4 - 12 = 68kg is in range of usual adult male.

like previous question, how much is the weight of an adventurer with armor?

The bone composition of the bird could be much lighter in weight, but much more load-bearing in strength - which could also affect the size of the bird.

Don't forget that Tonia is a world different from ours, where things not possible here could be there.

I tend to use the following formula.

[Plot necessity] minus by [Plot armour] take the result and times it by [Awesomeness], all divided by [Reasonable Believably]

I sometimes throw in some scaling for genre correction , but mostly I am happy with it.

But this is not the most intereting formula, do you want me to tell you how I calculate if two characters love each other?

Actually, would it matter much? that would minimize the bird's weight and increase the prey's weight. Suppose that 10kg bird lift 10kg object, increasing its speed still did not give a weight capacity different from the bird of 12 and 8.

Then again, what does kuukuu bird eat anyway, if they can maintain their large size? Yeah. Magic...
