I don't really get why they keep doing these prequels and origin films of established characters...

It's a thing of safety and proven concepts (memes), they know that people will want to watch these shows, why do they want success? Money, they just want to make money and using or producing proven ideas brings guaranteed income.

That one I did so long ago that I remember maybe a scene or two. It was back in a day when I still watched TV... very ancient history I saw the 2005 version simply because of my obsession with Johnny Depp back in middle school

Well, either way, I don't really want to see the new film. I feel like they'll break the character like they've done for so many other established characters in films...

Judging from the bits I've seen in trailers, they are doing the typical tiktok editing and crappy CGI everywhere, so it's easy to say where this is going. And it doesn't help that I can't stand the new actor...

However, I didn't like him in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for some reason.
I don't know if it was the whole vibe of the film or what, I just couldn't gel with it.

He definitely has better roles though. Especially with Helena Bonham Carter, the two can really carry a movie. This one just wasn't it, I think.

Honestly, for me the whole movie was a bit disturbing when you think about it, it is really messed up what happened in that factory. Nobody died in the end, sure, but still... She was thrown into a garbage hole and was supposed to be incinerated
