It's a spiked club with Eldritch poison on the rips. I can even combine it with your arm or something so that you never lose your weapon.

For some reason, my brain did a heck of a lot of mental gymnastics at once and read that as the fox have a deadly arse
Which then made me think that the fox was in fact a skunk pretending to be a fox
Which then made me realise the deadly arse was likely in reference to the foul odour they secrete as a defence mechanism.

Cos I know [Dead Island] also had a baseball bat that you stuck nails into to make it a spiked club.
