The Orbs of Vanity can cry! If they did cry, it would be actual tears, but in the presence of entities like The King and the Colorfully Rolling Laughter Within Flesh, it would be grey blood! Because that’s what Sol’s blood is! Though Betsie’s is red, and before transforming, Sol’s blood was an angry red. I think the skull effect is cool, but I do agree that it is awkward on perspective. I didn’t get the idea from JJK, but the ripped open cheek of Yuji looked exactly how the rip in the cheek would work! Except Yuji has molars rather than needles. View attachment 24508
Pants please! Same patterning as well! I edited my comment to include the apparel description!
Frost like pattern (purple but letting some of the black through like it’s transparent) would be so cool! But again, I don’t want to push too much detail onto your plate!
Hair is (I think! LOL! I can’t remember) about to the waist, while texture is quite fine and satiny. I love the style right now though, so feel free to keep it!

I love the high-wasted design!!! This is so perfect for Sol’s school uniform of choice!!! The checker pattern is so cool!!! EEK!!! I like the puff shoulders! Please keep it! Ruffles mid hips is perfect
I agree! Skip the lines in the eyes!
Definitely prefer the neckline you have at the moment, a higher one, without a deep v! My thoughts behind this is simply because I prefer to wear more modest dress, and Sol's clothes were written based off of my preferred aesthetic. A revealed collar bone is the maximum amount of scandalous for my apparel, and while Sol is totally able to rock more skin showing, and I admire those who can, it's definitely not for me! The thread extending from the neckline can be a thin mesh or a thick yarn ball overlapping of thread. I think a thin illusion mesh might work better for the summer dress style, but I'll leave that up to your artist's eye.
I think for tufts of contrast fur... lighter blue I think! Thanks for asking!
For the sleeve of the removed arm, I totally understand if doing this is difficult as cloth isn't normally drawn in such a manner, could it be a whole, deflated sleeve hanging limp at the shoulder? Or tied into a knot... which is probably more difficult actually. *hides face* If it doesn't seem to be working out, feel free to do ripped! I'll adore it any of the three ways!!!

I love the stitching so KERFRIGGIN' MUCH! Could there be only one side with teeth showing, like with Yuji, with those stitches stretched taut over it? Feel free to base your stitching on your medical experience though, which I think should take precedence over my story in this case.
For sure the darker cybergrape, the color palette website link one! Contrasts the mauvelous pink a lot better!
And the rainbow crystals are gorgeous!
For sapphire, the main color maybe first row last circle, and then if needed for highlights, first row first circle, and shading, second row first circle. But if the highlights and shading don't quite mesh with the main color because my artistic experience is shit, just change it. Don't even need to let me know. Just fix it up!

LMAO!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Heeheehee... Heeheehee... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Those colors should work! I’ll make the dress more modest for sure!

ok, now further teeth questions now:

Here’s without stitches (I add those in later). One side:

70C48BCB-7F53-46B7-BACC-C65C09C39C13.jpeg

Here, I experimented with a little “tongue spillage” - yay or nay do you think? I thought it might add to the horror a bit
Also, I realized I have A LOT more teeth exposed than the reference manga pic. Would you like a more subtle look in line with that? It would be no problem
I would basically just cut out the last two top and two bottom teeth, making it a bit more human accurate

I’m also experimenting with cutting into a part of the lip, which would make it more accurate

Regarding the stitches, obviously you don’t want exposed flesh LOL but Sol doesn’t exactly have access to the finest environment and healthcare, what with stitching it up themselves and all. I’ll experiment with stretching the stitches and I’ll add the discoloration around the mouth. NOW the discoloration I had in the original was purple bruising, red where the threads entered the skin, and a highlight of white at the place the skin was ripped. However, grey blood would probably bruise differently. Color preference?

Now, I know you said I can leave it but I will definitely update hair texture: do you want straight or curly hair?

this link has some hairstyles I could emulate: https://thegirlsway.com/products/satin-silk-heatless-hair-curler
Also, for the sleeve I’m thinking I’ll need to get creative. The puff sleeve right now is too short to tie by itself. I’m thinking tie the puff sleeve with a red ribbon to match the head bow
Something sorta like this:

The tongue spillage is inspired, darling!!!*dramatic flair to speech, and flourish of fingers one after the other in an outspread fanning of theater kid beckoning* As long as it's super thick, since it is nearing the base, and either dimpling under a tooth or pushing open the jaws slightly open. It doesn't need a more subtle look, because of the manga panel! It's more the thickness of cheek, and overall anatomical gruesomeness that drew me in! I just thought it might make a good reference point! Though if it messed up your process/confused your mental image, my bad!! Cutting a part of the lip would actually be pretty based! Trying out saying "based..." feels weird.

As for stitches, I am SO SUPER TORN between their medical excellence and the coolness of a ripped cheek... I uhhh... *spiral eyes* don't know. And for discoloration... huh... I haven't thought about that. StarsdamnSamIam. I liked the bruising you did, but now that you mention it, you raise a great point. Umm... errr... gahhhh... eeeeee... (each sound comes after a long moment in thought in real time)... I like purple bruising. If people question, I'm just going to pull an answer out of my tushie and say that the Miasma of The Many-Faced Noble can affect that type of thing.

Curly? This will be my inspiration for the first chapter of the School Arc! And a less realistic volume to it, like what you have now, when looking at the hairstyles link you posted.
Sol normally has straight, extremely soft hair, with a satin finish/shine to it, exacerbated by the Torment hybridization. But they are able to style their hair unnaturally well. This actually is something extremely different from their parents. Their father, Lionel, has hair similarly colored to their human version (light brown, though his has blonde highlights due to Magic) but extremely different texture. His hair is extremely frizzy and as stubborn as he is, with zig-zags of all kinds when not slicked back by blood and not ruined by helmet head. Their mother, unknown as of now, has naturally thick hair. It is styled in one of two bobs: the curly, messy bob of Dorothy Nourse with some hair perm-pressed, and the lower tips naturally curl, and the angular bob of Louise Brooks, with all hair painstaking perm-pressed.
That sounds great! A light red ribbon would connect with the ribbon great!!
And holy shiitake mushrooms! I've looong run out of adjectives for "awesome".
And-and, REALLY SORRY I'M BEING SO SLOW!!!

No problem I know it’s a lot of questions!!!!!

I think I’ve figured out a bit on the tooth part- I think I will take away those teeth, and replace it with stitches. That way, the tight correct stitches will “pull” open, then be split, with the tongue lolling out. Best of both worlds.

The image definitely helps! I pull from a lot of references that I either look up or have seen lol. For example, the Puff sleeves and waistline is actually based on regency dresses. I’ll probably add some 1840s with the lace/thread portion.

For the bruising, how about purple with a bit of green? It can tie into the tongue.

Awesome!! And what I need to do is watch this thread. I don't really purposefully watch any threads. I just check in on 'em! But now I'll get a notification!

The stitches should all be even in size, so for the in-between part I’m making the skin rip to look more realistic.
Opening the jaw this way should technically look a bit different, since I think the stitches would rip out completely, like an earring ripping through an ear lobe, vs. remaining in the skin. I like the “muzzle” visual tho
I’m going to use boa snakes hanging out of trees for a tongue reference as well
And here’s a visual of the tied sleeve

The boa snake reference is exactly how I see it! AWESOME!
I can't wait for it all!

For posing, would you want something casual? Refined?
Sorry for all the questions lol just figured if I’m going all in for heaven’s sake I’m going all in lol
The anatomy has been bothering me, so I’m going to re-sketch out the pose and the chest and all that later
I think for posing, a purposefully disjointed imitation of a casual reclining on the beach. Kind of similar to how you have it now, actually, but instead certain body parts are moved to uncomfortable locations. The arm is supporting him, but the shoulder looks like it should be dislocated because the chest is so rotated and at odds with both the shoulder and the neck. But the lower body is fine in its position, despite the torso flexing so much.
No problem whatsoever for all of the questions! Happy to answer! It's so incredibly, ridiculously sweet that you are going all in!
Sounds good! ? :blob_aww:
Edit: and if the neck could still be kept tilted to match the slight tilt of Sol's head as you have it right now, despite twisting it.

Edit-edit: Actually, just keep it in a similar position to now, and resize as you feel you need to! There aren't too many references for this type of thing, and the dislocation is too much! Too much I say!

Awesome!! I think fabric shading and twisting will definitely help with creating a strained and disjointed look

If you ever feel it is too much though, I don't want to drive you insane! :sweating_profusely: :sweating_profusely:
No worries! I like this stuff, originally I wanted to make a WEBTOON of my story by my skills aren’t there just yet. I’ll be working on the drawing over the weekends, it might take me a while to finish though ;)

You have had questions for me, and now I have a question for you, @MintiLime ! How do you feel about Sol employing a truly out-of-pocket method of torture against the Lady of Death & Taxes, an individual who will otherwise kill Sol and has killed Facet, in order to escape permanent deletion?
It will be a method of attack as revolting as the end to the date with The King! It may even be worse! To give a major hint, the abusee become the abuser to throw the Lady off her game. @HelloHound this is probably context you could use as well.
In other words, should Sol's powerful drive to live against all odds overtake their morals, or should their morals overtake their drive to live? What da ya think?
Feel free to postpone judgement until the last two chapters have been read! Just know the chapter will be out by next Sunday!
All it will cost me is more fluff to create a less cruel (but still really nasty) plan to take down the Lady of Death & Taxes.
