Question becomes how do they survive the wrath of the hydra
Perhaps the hydra is too big to fit in many parts of the undergrown dwarven city, and it's actively progressively trying to flood more sections in so it can attack? Meanwhile it sends its armies of snake minions as mobs.

Oh and um... how many different types of giant snakes can people come up with?

Like I'm thinking the hydra is snake-like, so its natural to have snake minions.

Other types of hydra minions would be good to brainstorm too

Snakes with different colors. 2 legged snakes. Mini hydras (2 heads 3 heads and so forth). Cursed snakes. Ghost snakes. Chimera snakes. Snakes as mounts (snake riders).

What about a snake that has a giant vertical mouth under it's main mouth that has a ton of teeth. (preferable poisonous teeth.)

Sorry I'm thinking body horror type stuff here.

Lightning Snakes
1. Advantage in water as they can electrocute the water habitat.
2. Dwarves dressed in iron and iron is a conductor.

All these snakes would consume ore as a food source, hence the habitat fight?, detail can be discovered via quest report.
