I had a feeling this crap would happen, which is why I'm happy my honda fr-v was made in 2008.
buddy what did you think car insurance was all this time? Why did you think its illegal to drive without one in nearly every state of the U.S?I had a feeling this crap would happen, which is why I'm happy my honda fr-v was made in 2008.
You can still own and drive a vehicle without car insurance just not on PUBLIC roads the insurance company also isn't going to turn off your heater in the dead of winter because you missed a paymentbuddy what did you think car insurance was all this time? not but you can get your WHOLE CAR taken away due to missed payments on other things. You can still own and drive a vehicle without car insurance just not on PUBLIC roads the insurance company also isn't going to turn off your heater in the dead of winter because you missed a payment
BMW did start a seat subscription for $18 a month. It also included other things, like auto-high beams and adaptive cruise control (per the article). Even though I can afford it, that doesn't mean I want to nor should I have to. It's a basic feature majority of other cars come standard with, and BMW now all of a sudden wants to put it behind a paywall? Hell no.I didn't watch the video, but from the other posts here, it seems like BMW pulled some nonsense where you have to pay a monthly fee to get access to basic features of your car?
I mean, it sounds absurd, but at the same time... Isn't BMW absurdly expensive anyways? The people who can afford a BMW can probably afford this extra too.
Huh? Interesting, that's wildly different from how it is over here.Edit: Sorry, to add- BMW isn't exactly more expensive than any other vehicle on the market actually. You can afford it as a normal person depending on the model you get. The big dolores come into play when you get the faster, sporty models as the insurance skyrockets on them. But if you're buying that kind of car then you can
Oh, I totally agree with you there~Being able to use your car fully and not have to pay random dollars here and there just for basic features is super greedy. When you pay for an automobile, you put that loan down for the whole car. A car that will be yours when the loan is paid off (unless you pay cash and buy it out). Adding subscriptions on top of an asset that instantly depreciates and the company does not have to pay to repair/replace if it breaks is not okay.
Not the battle passBattle pass is next?
You have my condolences. As a car guy, I would not survive over there. Prices likely also depend on availability of the models, the parts, the actual mark-up on the vehicles, and taxes. It sounds like to me the target market there isn't something for BMW, so those that do get sold are marked up.Huh? Interesting, that's wildly different from how it is over here.
I did a quick googling just now. The cheapest BMW available in my country is sold for roughly 300,000 of my currency (about 80,000 USD).
The cheapest Fiat car I found OTOH was 67,000 (roughly 13,400 USD), so like... Almost 5x as cheap as the BMW... And like, the average price of a Fiat was around 100,000 (roughly 20,000 USD), so... Still 3x cheaper than the cheapest BMW.
Kinda wild to hear that their prices are similar in your country. I would have never guessed it~
Oh, I totally agree with you there~
I was just talking from the perspective of my country which is like... Well, BMW is so ridiculously expensive that nobody would ever buy it unless they had way too much money to spare... At that point, the extra monthly fee would be irrelevant.
If BMW has more competitive prices over there, then it is definitely much worse to have a subscription.
At level 10 you get access to the seatbelt function, at level 20 you will get headlights, and at level 30 you get brakes. Do the dailies or buy the premium, maxed out version of BP.Not the battle pass![]()
Ah, yeah, car prices are pretty high over here~Not the battle pass

Off the lot, BMWs do tend to be among the higher valued vehicles but they depreciate exponentially compared to other vehicles, making it cheap to pick them up if you go a few years back. Fiats and smaller vics like it will definitely be significantly cheaper and they also hold value better because of lower maintenance and reliability, as they are meant to be both long lasting and affordable. BMWs are meant to be "affordable" comfort sport cars with better engines that have a bit of a kick to them. Something you can fit into the budget if you make a sacrifice here or there for it.
