Not that I've never considered talking about more light-hearted topics, but that's kinda hard when everyone has made it so clear that I'm a persona non-grata in this forum.

I somehow doubt the veracity of this statement. You are the one that perpetuates drama on the forums. In talking about my joke, you failed to mention that I provided advice in those same threads before, but when they keep popping up, you can't expect me to believe you actually try to forget anything. Hence, I made a joke about it. You took offense, and then you decide to bring it up a while later. What am I supposed to think you are doing? Trying to create more drama? I had entirely forgotten about that joke when I made it, and I don't think I mentioned you since (?) Now you bring it up, and then you say the forums are toxic. Just say "Envy is toxic, and all of the people who made jokes are toxic".

@forli Don't interact with those who refuse your olive branch. Interact with those who accept it. You can block those who irk you or insult you, and talk with those who don't do this. Although I have not blocked anyone, I will use myself as example once again. I can sometimes talk about writing with Cipiteca396, but I won't engage in conversation about writing with Jemini.

Just block the people you don’t like so you won’t see their posts, or just move on. People here are going to make offensive jokes about you eventually as long a you’re here, and you can’t expect someone to jump in and see your side every time it happens.

It’s not about olive branches or “understanding.” You can only get that if you can gain someone’s respect, and you can’t demand respect first.

Gaining someone’s respect often means you have the ability to disagree with their way of doing things, but not complain or get upset over it, or try to validate that your way or view of the interaction somehow is better.

If we don’t understand you, so be it. Maybe only @SailusGebel right now has the patience to try, but you should probably lurk a bit to get an idea of how people here interact before coming out and insulting the forum in general as toxic.

Forum might not be for you, so find a better place to interact with others, or try to figure out what’s going on.

None of this is about right and wrong by the way. Interaction between humans requires both sides to want the same thing, whether it be banter, offensive and insulting jokes or something else.

The way you’re presenting yourself (and this is my opinion), it feels like I’d have to walk on egg shells so as not to make you upset and most here would not do that.

Granted, I don’t know you personally or even if something is going on in real life that you’re doing this here, but a lot of us come here to shitpost because it helps relieve the stress from some of the crap we deal with in real life. Walking on eggshells isn’t something most of want to or care to do.

Quora and Anime-planet can be alright. But I got an IP block on Quora for whatever reason.
My fav was my earlier internet provider's forum. But it got shut down back in the 2008.

I think the biggest confusion you have about the forum is that it’s very different from the main site itself.

The main site has far more people reading stories, and many of them never come to the forum. They rate and never say anything, then they might say bad things in comments.

Seeing a lot of your posts, I think you’re assuming that the culture on Scribblehub is the same as here in the Scribble Hub forums, and in reality it’s a very different group. Insults on SH do not have the same joke meaning as insults by the majority of people here on the forums.

It’s two different cultures. Majority on the forum have tried to author, failed at authoring and now just shitpost, are here just to be entertained by others or are looking for genuine advice. Your threads, which you claimed were written in anger, come off as complaining which is why a lot of our responses were sarcastic.

Hell, if you look at my earliest threads (if you can find it) I come off the same way and had some drama too. I even did one worse and took revenge by giving people 1 star ratings because of it (grants at the time I had multiple deaths around me so I wasn’t exactly in a good state of mind) but you get the picture.

SHF is different from SH, some of us here that shitpost don’t even go to the main website anymore.

Anon 2021 needs to give K5 an extra 1 star for each 1 star posted in anger to other authors.

There was one person who thought my story was utterly terrible because the main character didn't follow the exact list of feelings and actions they thought an Isekai protagonist should do. My character just freaked out for a moment before getting their bearings, and then immediately headed to the library to figure out wtf was going on.

Another one started throwing personal attacks and insults at me because I insulted their waifu, Ayn Rand.

They're probably on this thread, so let me say I have no hard feelings and I think the situations were just very silly.
