Yep, and add to that my own values and beliefs, since I was raised in a conservative Christian family (though I'm a liberal Christian nowadays).
Honestly I find the whole idea of Christian’s labeling themselves funny because there are no clearly defined definitions for “conservative” and “liberal, and I think there is a new term known as “progressives.”
As it relates to incest however, I don’t see the point in trying to defend Christian ideology against what is perceived public disgust.
What disgusts people changes, and so because something that disgusted someone 50 years ago is not disgusting to them now all of a sudden it is therefore okay and not needed to be defended?
i guess you could say I’m not big on relative morality and subscribe more to a universal morality.
however if I’m being honest, I’m not 100% certain how enjoying incest in fiction affects my actual thought process since I’m able to to separate it from reality.
As far as glorifying the idea of parent/sibling and child abuse I can see how some people who can’t separate fiction and reality could be inflamed with lust and go after it, but then again it’s not like the internet can gatekeep out the stable and mentally unstable.
