You have to make this choice most personally. You can either, concentrate on the more serious aspects of the book's general tone and theme, and exclude the erotic section of their intimacy (while adding teasable/playful reactions of those clues afterwards), or, straight up include the scene.
If you do include the scene, it does have the chance to break general immersion for some people, depending on how it gets incorporated, and additionally, there are some readers who just, exit from books when they are introduced to such a thing (probably the same amount of people who flock to a book because 'oh yeah, juicy content'
)
My advice? Stick with the overall theme of your book. If what you are writing were mostly the tone of a hot and steamy romance, then including it would feel mandatory. If what you are writing is instead, a grimdark fantasy with a serious or action/thriller tone, skip the sex scene, as it will feel a little out of place. At least, if I were the writer, that's how it would feel. I'm not good at doing erotic scenes, so take what I say with some salt.
